Research Architect (Integrated Photonics)

What you will do

• Translate optical sensing concepts into photonic solutions for lithography and metrology tools.
• Define system requirements, architectures, specifications, and technology development needs.
• Design and specify photonic integrated circuits and define experiments to evaluate them.
• Identify concepts, assess technology maturity, and contribute to the photonics technology roadmap.
• Lead experimental and theoretical feasibility studies toward clear conclusions and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with researchers, other hirify.global departments, external research institutes, universities, and foundries.

Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Physics.
• 4+ years of experience in integrated photonics.
• Experience identifying system-level and technology development needs for photonic solution concepts.
• Experience designing photonic components using numerical methods such as FDTD, EME, and FEM, plus optics modeling software such as Lumerical.
• Experience with experimental evaluation and manufacturing of photonic integrated circuits, including interaction with foundries.
• Legal authorization to access technology controlled under the United States Export Administration Regulations is required before starting the job.
