What you will do

• Lead end-to-end integration design, development, and validation for hospital EHRs like Epic, Cerner, and Meditech.
• Serve as the primary technical expert in client engagements, guiding architecture discussions with CIOs and IT leadership.
• Own the full integration lifecycle including specification development, mapping, testing, and production stabilization.
• Design for system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis for complex production issues.
• Develop automation tools to streamline implementation tasks and reduce integration risk.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 7+ years of experience building and supporting hospital-based HL7v2 interfaces at scale.
• Expertise in interface engine architecture and EHR-specific message structures.
• Proven ability to lead executive-level communication and influence senior health system stakeholders.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with JavaScript or Python for transformation logic.
• Experience enabling FHIR R4 APIs and SMART on FHIR workflows.

Nice to have

• Advanced Rhapsody architecture and operations experience.
• Background in clinical informatics or certified health IT credentials (e.g., HL7, FHIR, Mirth Connect).
• Experience with EHR data extraction patterns including flat files and X12 transfers.
• Participation in HL7 or FHIR working groups.
