What you will do

• Develop and strengthen relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and influencers in the technology sector.
• Craft and execute PR campaigns and media strategies for major open source projects and events.
• Build and manage thought leadership platforms for key spokespeople, including media preparation.
• Write press releases and distill complex technical news into compelling, audience-aligned content.
• Manage third-party agency partners and oversee regional communication requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent messaging across various open source initiatives.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in B2B tech PR, with a preference for agency or combined agency/in-house backgrounds.
• Proven ability to understand complex technology and create messaging for executive-level audiences.
• Exceptional media relations skills with a track record of securing high-level coverage.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools for improved efficiency and outcomes.
• Strong management experience with 1–3 direct reports.
• Ability to travel as required for events and project needs.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the open source ecosystem and experience creating PR plans aimed at developer awareness.
• Experience supporting large-scale press events.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Slides.
