What you will do

• Own the hirify.global query language stack, including grammar parsing, compilation, and processing.
• Collaborate with AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing teams to evolve the query language.
• Build and maintain scalable distributed Java services and petabyte-scale infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve critical performance, availability, and resiliency risks in a multi-region, multi-cloud distributed database.
• Operate within an agile DevOps environment, including sharing pager rotation for system reliability.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in collaborative software development.
• Firm grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and modern software design.
• Proficiency in Java or equivalent experience in an alternate OOP language (C++, C#).
• Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to use the command-line effectively to debug and fix broken systems.

Nice to have

• Experience developing and operating within a 24x7 SaaS business.
• Interest or experience in database implementation, distributed systems, or query language grammar and execution.
• Familiarity with observability tools and platforms.
• Experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience working asynchronously in distributed teams.
