Salary: $148,000 – $216,000 USD / 171,500 – 201,000 CAD

What you will do

• Design and build high-quality APIs and services for subscriber and payment infrastructure.
• Work with AI tools (Claude Code) as a first-class collaborator to create specs, generate code, and perform reviews.
• Define and codify AI-Native engineering practices and playbooks for the Growth team and broader organization.
• Develop across the full stack to ship polished and reliable experiences to tens of millions of users.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to turn complex user problems into scalable engineering solutions.
• Mentor team members, contribute to architectural decisions, and help evolve technical standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Apache Kafka or similar distributed streaming platforms.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency and fault tolerance.
• Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containerized deployments.
• Must be based in the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Background in stream processing frameworks like Kafka Streams or Flink.
• Experience with schema registries and evolution strategies.
• Understanding of CI/CD patterns and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog.
