TL;DR

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and enterprise integration components for mission-critical applications.
  • Implement business logic, service orchestration, and data access layers to support product functionality.
  • Build secure, scalable server-side solutions using approved architectures and development standards.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, and DevSecOps teams within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Optimize backend service performance, reliability, monitoring, logging, and observability.
  • Support data exchange processes and secure service-to-service communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend software engineering or enterprise application development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational database technologies.
  • Experience using Git-based version control and CI/CD delivery workflows.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with healthcare integrations, enterprise messaging standards, or healthcare data exchange.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services, container platforms, and deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) initiatives.
  • Exposure to InterSystems IRIS or FHIR APIs.
