Analytics Engineer

TL;DR

Analytics Engineer (Power BI/SQL): Delivering scalable analytics and reporting capabilities within the Internal Technology team with an accent on Power BI development, semantic modeling, and data governance. Focus on designing reusable data products, optimizing DAX performance, and enabling self-service analytics to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Location: Must be based in the UK (Leeds, Manchester, or Marlow) with a hybrid work model (2 days in office, 3 days remote).

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise-standard Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Develop and manage reusable semantic models using dimensional modeling techniques.
• Implement and govern KPI definitions to ensure consistency across all data products.
• Optimize Power BI performance and apply best practices for usability and governance.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
• Enable self-service analytics by providing templates and guidance to business users.

Requirements

• Strong experience in building Power BI reports and dashboards including advanced DAX.
• Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data relationships.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric semantic models and datasets.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, transformation, and analysis.
• Ability to balance user needs with technical best practices and governance standards.
• Must be based in the UK and able to work in a hybrid capacity.
