Staff Software Engineer

TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer: Responsible for the design and development of our Payment Processing Gateway and other server-side products with an accent on Behavioural Driven Development and Continuous Delivery. Focus on improving the software development process, methodologies and tools through applied experience, automation and simplification.

Location: Belfast, United Kingdom. Flexible working with the option to work from home.

What you will do

• Understand merchant and partner needs and address expectations through high-quality, innovative solutions.
• Inspire your team as a technical leader by training, mentoring, and motivating team members.
• Improve the software development process, methodologies, and tools through applied experience and automation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure deliverables are technically accurate and useful.
• Identify critical activities and tasks on projects, assist with estimation and planning, and ensure timely communication of status.
• Assist with software deployment activities to internal test environments and our production data center.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science or related field, or commercial experience in C#, Java, or another OO programming language.
• Experience in server product development.
• Understanding of database design and development.
• Experience with Design Patterns, Refactoring, and OO Design.
• Experience working in an Agile SCRUM or Lean Kanban environment.
• Eligibility to work in the UK on a permanent and full-time basis.

Nice to have

• Web client programming skills, including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Experience in asynchronous messaging systems.
• Experience of Windows development on .Net.
