What you will do

• Design and deliver platform features for observability using Prometheus, Chronosphere, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
• Own the reliability, performance, and evolution of data infrastructure services such as Airflow and Spark.
• Develop internal developer tooling and APIs to streamline deployment and reduce operational toil for engineering teams.
• Participate in on-call rotations to triage and resolve production issues across US, EU, and GovCloud environments.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to translate needs into scalable platform capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise the bar of engineering excellence through code reviews and technical design docs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend engineering and designing production-grade distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and working proficiency in Golang.
• Experience building systems that process data at scale (metric ingestion, stream/batch processing).
• Proven track record of owning a service end-to-end from design through deployment and monitoring.
• Expertise in fault tolerance patterns and incident response capability.
• Eligibility to access controlled technology under U.S. export control laws (EAR)

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with PromQL, Grafana dashboards, and commercial platforms like Datadog or Honeycomb.
• Proficiency with AWS services (EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda) and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Pulumi and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Django, gRPC, or protobuf for microservices communication.
• Experience leading small teams or building internal developer platforms.
