What you will do
- Architect AI-assisted workflows for photonic design, verification, and yield improvement on the Axiomatic Intelligence platform.
- Translate complex photonic engineering processes into verifiable workflows combining physics-based methods with AI reasoning systems.
- Partner with customer engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and integrate solutions with existing EDA tools and PDK ecosystems.
- Build physics-grounded and measurement-enriched models to improve design confidence and accelerate iteration cycles.
- Collaborate with internal technology and product teams to convert customer-driven prototypes into scalable platform features.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in integrated photonics, electrical, or telecommunications engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in photonic product development, preferably reaching market deployment.
- Proficiency with COMSOL, Ansys, RSoft, Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys OptoCompiler, or Luceda IPKISS.
- Experience with advanced component design (high-speed modulators, photodiodes) and multi-objective co-design.
- Experience working directly with EDA vendors or photonic foundries to deliver technical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with enterprise stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with modern AI tools, including LLMs, APIs, and agentic systems.
- Programming experience in Python for scientific computing and API integration.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, APIs, and HPC or cluster-based compute environments.
- Experience working with research teams or R&D organizations on production software.
