CAD/EDA Tools Automation Engineer

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $149,600–$245,160 USD.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and debug software tools, flows, and methodologies for design automation, hardware design, process design, and manufacturing.
• Capture user stories and technical requirements and write functional and test code.
• Automate software build and deployment processes.
• Perform unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of software tools.
• Develop automation for workflows, templates, and other standardized processes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience or a PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another technical engineering discipline; the required degree must be held or expected by September 2026.
• At least 6 months of experience with solid programming and scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or C++.
• At least 6 months of experience working in Linux environments and with version management systems.

Nice to have

• At least 12 months of experience with industry-standard EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys ICV, or Siemens Calibre for physical design, place-and-route scripts, and DRC verification.
• Experience developing job management tools on distributed systems.
• Experience automating processes through workflows, templates, or other methods.
• Knowledge of CAD software administration and deployment.
