What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain innovative solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security for the AWS global network backbone.
• Develop high-quality distributed system software and extend platforms that support software-defined networks (SDN).
• Collaborate with Network, Systems, and Software Engineering teams to ensure smooth roll-out and deployment of new designs.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure system fault tolerance and resolve root causes of issues.
• Use data to measure success and prevent faults from impacting customers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed systems using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Location: Must be based in Sydney, Australia with the ability to drive into the workplace for critical events.
• Ability to operate efficiently under pressure during problem resolution.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle (SDLC) experience, including coding standards, code reviews, and build processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
