TL;DR

Payroll Team Leader (Finance): Leading and delivering end-to-end payroll operations for employees and pensioners with an accent on data integrity, regulatory compliance, and system management. Focus on managing a small team, ensuring accurate gross-to-net calculations, and driving continuous process improvements within the IRIS Cascade environment.

Location: Must be based in the UK. Hybrid role with flexibility to work from home.

Salary: up to £52,000

What you will do

  • Own and deliver end-to-end payroll processing for employees and pensioners.
  • Validate gross-to-net calculations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage pension auto-enrolment, contributions, and provider submissions.
  • Oversee payrolling of benefits in kind and ensure accurate tax treatment.
  • Submit RTI filings and support year-end activities including P60 and P11D.
  • Lead, coach, and support a small team to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end UK payroll in a complex environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of IRIS Cascade is essential.
  • Solid understanding of payroll calculations, controls, and reconciliation processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and RTI.
  • Leadership capability with experience supporting or developing others.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work proactively.

  • Experience managing statutory leave and benefits in kind processing.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency.
