TL;DR

Virtualization Backup Engineer (German Speaker): Providing technical support for hirify.global Backup and Replication solutions with an accent on troubleshooting complex virtualization and networking issues. Focus on resolving customer cases, analyzing logs, and collaborating with IT professionals to ensure data resilience.

Location: Hybrid role based in Bucharest or Prague. Applicants must be located in Europe; please note that applications from Poland are excluded.

What you will do

  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting and log file analysis for backup and replication issues.
  • Act as a technical focal point for IT professionals, managing cases from initial report to resolution.
  • Investigate issues across hirify.global products and 3rd party components like VMware, Hyper-V, and Microsoft environments.
  • Educate customers on product configuration and best practices to prevent future issues.
  • Document all interactions accurately within the CRM system while adhering to SLA requirements.

Requirements

  • Fluent English and German (reading, writing, speaking) are mandatory.
  • Advanced administrative experience with Windows Server (2016-2025) and Windows 10/11.
  • Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, networking configuration, and troubleshooting (NAT, DHCP, DNS).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong desire to take ownership of client issues through to resolution.

Nice to have

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux systems.
  • Knowledge of VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange server administration.
  • Experience with database engines such as SQL or Oracle.
