Compensation: $7,622.83 – $11,886.67 CAD Monthly

The Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute at is a world-leading research institute advancing solid-state systems and quantum mechanics through its Advanced Nanofabrication Facility.
What you will do
- Develop and execute strategies to increase revenue and commercial utilization of nanofabrication and research services.
- Lead client acquisition, including lead generation, proposal preparation, and contract negotiation.
- Manage the full lifecycle of fee-for-service contracts, including compliance, invoicing, and payment tracking.
- Identify and secure grant opportunities and manage the NRC IRAP Contributions to Organizations program.
- Build strategic relationships with industry partners, government agencies, and defence-related organizations.
- Organize and manage high-value industry events, workshops, and on-campus site visits.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Business, Engineering, Applied Science, or Physics).
- Minimum of six years of related experience in business development or industry partnership management.
- Proven track record in technology business development and revenue generation within deep-tech or research sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contract lifecycles, RFQs, and financial tracking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with C-level executives and technical leads.
- Understanding of the Canadian innovation landscape and government funding mechanisms.
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in a relevant field.
- Established network in quantum, photonics, or semiconductor ecosystems.
- Experience with CRM systems and data-driven business development processes.
- Knowledge of fee-for-service models in research infrastructure.
