What you will do

• Drive the Core Model Safety roadmap, owning the full lifecycle from research to technology transfer.
• Train and deploy end-to-end AV 2.0 models on a global fleet to improve generalisation across vehicles and markets.
• Build high-value open-loop and closed-loop evaluations for core capabilities and representation learning.
• Align technical priorities with AV Core, Evaluation, and Product Engineering teams.
• Mentor team members and maintain awareness of the broader business and product context.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in ML engineering, specifically handling ambiguous problems.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, CUDA, and ML frameworks (especially PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with transformer-based and multimodal architectures (VLM, VLA).
• Experience training shared representations with multiple tasks or objectives.
• Staff-level technical leadership capability to lead cross-functional work without formal line management.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in autonomous vehicles or robotics with physical system deployment.
• Experience in 3D scene understanding and representation learning for perception.
• Expertise in reward modelling, behaviour modelling, or model interpretability.
• Knowledge of redundant architectures and safety-critical systems.
• Experience with large-scale training infrastructure or agentic workflows.
