What you will do

• Build scalable systems for training and fine-tuning large-scale models to evaluate complex driving behaviors.
• Design and scale distributed systems covering the ML lifecycle, including planet-scale dataset generation and model evaluation.
• Optimize ML models to assess a fleet of vehicles traveling millions of miles.
• Drive architectural decisions and technical directions for large, complex ML systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business goals into measurable technical deliverables.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, ML, AI, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in ML infrastructure, specifically designing, scaling, and optimizing large-scale systems.
• Proven contributions to ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Jax, Tensorflow, or Ray.
• Strong expertise in distributed training techniques, gradient sharding, and optimization strategies.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience in machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or complex simulation environments.
• Familiarity with large-scale simulation platforms integrated with ML training workflows.
