What you will do

• Assemble cutting tools into tool-holders and position them in machine spindles or tool changer magazines.
• Manually program CNC controllers through manual data input and generated programs.
• Manipulate machine controls to set up cutting tools and machine workpieces.
• Perform tool changes and offsets to maintain parts within specification and compensate for wear.
• Interpret ISO blueprints to incorporate requirements into part programs.
• Document and communicate irregularities and continuing needs to supervisors and co-workers across shifts.

Requirements

• High School, Trade School graduate, or G.E.D.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• At least 6 months of experience working with CNC machines and equipment used in optical fabrication.
• Proficiency with measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gages.
• Intermediate mathematical skills (basic math, geometry, and trigonometry).
• Familiarity with Windows 10, MS Office, and SAP.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in machining from a vocational trade.
• Prior experience with DMG, Hurco, and Siemens controls.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or vocational certification.
