TL;DR

Principal Engineer (AI): Designing and building domain-specific AI agents and agentic co-working technologies to accelerate employee productivity and process automation with an accent on agentic coding and enterprise ontology. Focus on translating productivity opportunities into operational MVPs and embedding AI agents into real-world workflows.

Location: Hybrid (London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, or Manchester). Must spend at least two days per week (40%) at one of the office sites.

What you will do

• Design and build domain-specific AI agents and reusable capabilities for the AI Productivity Lab.
• Lead the transition of AI solutions from initial prototype stage to operational MVP.
• Embed AI agents into existing team workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and tooling.
• Develop and maintain a scalable repository of AI skills, tools, and operating procedures.
• Mentor other engineers and influence the technical direction of the Group's AI strategy.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading the delivery of technology solutions in complex production environments.
• Extensive hands-on expertise in solutions architecture and business process automation.
• Strong experience with agentic coding and coworker technology (e.g., Claude Code, Cowork, OpenClaw, GitHub Copilot).
• Expertise in knowledge management, enterprise ontology, and knowledge graph technology.
• Experience with business process optimization methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
• Must be based in or able to commute to London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, or Manchester.

Nice to have

• Strong understanding of operational processes and risk management within Financial Services.
