What you will do

• Participate in the build, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of quantum computing systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair cryogenic and electromechanical systems in both lab and field settings.
• Collaborate with hardware and R&D teams to enhance system design, reliability, and serviceability.
• Develop service procedures, troubleshooting documentation, and incident response processes.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and host facility personnel.
• Support production systems through a required on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting complex multidisciplinary electromechanical systems.
• Strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with scripting, PLC logic, or languages such as Python or C/C++.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.
• Ability to obtain a valid passport and necessary U.S. work authorization for business travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with cryogenic or high-vacuum systems.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, IT infrastructure, and Linux/UNIX.
• Experience with P&IDs, fluid control, or electromechanical control systems.
• Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC.
