TL;DR

Junior Product Owner (Sports Tech): Managing the backlog and coordinating delivery for real-time athletic tracking and automatic officiating systems with an accent on technical execution and operational excellence. Focus on bridging the gap between engineering and operations, coordinating QC activities, and ensuring system reliability in live stadium environments.

Location: Hybrid (Basingstoke, Bristol, or London); Must be based in the UK and work from the office 2 days per week

Salary: £30,540 – £43,630

What you will do

  • Translate user and business needs into epics, features, and user stories for product changes.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on data, value, and risk.
  • Coordinate QC activities, including functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
  • Collaborate daily with Engineering, QA, TechOps, and UX teams within Agile ceremonies.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and training materials for product roll-outs.
  • Support pilots and provide early-life support for tracking products in live match operations.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a product-related role (Associate PO, Business Analyst, QA, or similar).
  • Strong technical grounding to communicate effectively with engineers and operators of software-hardware systems.
  • Proven experience coordinating QC/regression testing and managing defect resolution.
  • Experience working with cloud-based and data-oriented products and interpreting product analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset to handle ambiguity.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting product launches and creating tutorial content.
  • Exposure to stakeholder engagement and prioritization frameworks.
  • Experience with products combining software and high-performance cameras in high-pressure live broadcast environments.
