What you will do

• Design and execute probability sampling methodologies for Medicare claims review in accordance with IOM 100-8 guidance.
• Perform overpayment extrapolation calculations and validate all inputs, outputs, and assumptions.
• Prepare technically precise reports and workpapers for CMS submission and administrative appeals.
• Support the defense of extrapolation findings at Administrative Law Judge hearings.
• Extract and analyze large, complex Medicare claims data files using statistical tools.
• Collaborate with project management and legal teams on review targeting strategies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Statistics from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in probability sampling design and extrapolation estimation.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Medicare claims data environments such as CMS Standard Analytic Files or MedPAR.
• Advanced proficiency with statistical tools like SAS, R, or SPSS.
• Familiarity with IOM 100-8 statistical sampling methodology.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics.
• Prior experience performing Medicare overpayment extrapolation on a CMS contract.
• Experience providing expert statistical testimony in ALJ proceedings.
