Location: Must be based in San Jose or San Francisco and able to work from the office 4 days per week.

Salary: $37 – $45 per hour

What you will do

• Verify data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure against existing documentation.
• Conduct checklist-driven reviews of assigned systems and capture operating parameters.
• Compare field conditions against drawings, diagrams, and asset inventories.
• Document equipment configurations, ratings, and identify discrepancies.
• Update draft system maps and inventory records.
• Flag documentation gaps and potential resiliency concerns for senior review.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work effectively from checklists.
• Ability to read technical documentation or a strong willingness to learn.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Comfortable working under supervision in a structured engineering environment.
• Interest in data centers, infrastructure, reliability, or mission-critical systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with data center, facility, lab, or industrial environments.
• Exposure to CAD, Bluebeam, Excel, Google Sheets, or asset management tools.
• Knowledge of cooling systems, chillers, pumps, piping, or controls for ME candidates.
• Prior internship, project, lab, or field experience.
