Construction Intern

TL;DR

Construction Intern (Engineering): Supporting the Construction and Facilities team in the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale industrial construction projects with an accent on site operations, safety compliance, and project scheduling. Focus on assisting project managers with daily activities, reviewing technical documentation, and ensuring adherence to safety standards in an advanced manufacturing environment.

Location: Must be based in Manteno, Illinois

Salary: $24 - $25 USD per hour

What you will do

• Assist project managers and superintendents with daily construction activities and site coordination.
• Support the tracking of project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Conduct site walks to document progress, safety compliance, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
• Assist in preparing reports, meeting notes, and project updates.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work in a field-based construction environment in Manteno, IL.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and project documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to learn and work in a team-oriented environment.
