What you will do
- Lead the technical direction and architecture of backend services, translating product goals into scalable engineering solutions.
- Design and build high-quality services using .NET (C#) and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Architect Kubernetes workloads and manage resource scaling across AWS and Azure environments.
- Implement edge compute solutions using Cloudflare Workers and related services.
- Author and review Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and proactively address systemic technical debt.
- Mentor engineers across all levels through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in .NET (C#) and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Strong production experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Workers and edge services.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and API design.
- English: Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Location: Must be based in or able to work in Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)
Nice to have
- Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
- Knowledge of FinOps, multi-cluster Kubernetes, or service mesh architectures.
- Prior experience in a staff-level or technical lead role within a product company.
