What you will do

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of backend services, translating product goals into scalable engineering solutions.
• Design and build high-quality services using .NET (C#) and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Architect Kubernetes workloads and manage resource scaling across AWS and Azure environments.
• Implement edge compute solutions using Cloudflare Workers and related services.
• Author and review Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and proactively address systemic technical debt.
• Mentor engineers across all levels through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in .NET (C#) and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Workers and edge services.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and API design.
• English: Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Location: Must be based in or able to work in Budapest, Hungary (Hybrid)

Nice to have

• Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
• Knowledge of FinOps, multi-cluster Kubernetes, or service mesh architectures.
• Prior experience in a staff-level or technical lead role within a product company.
