TL;DR

Salary: $43.75 - $70.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Underwrite complex residential mortgage loans (CEMA, Jumbo, Wealth) and consumer loans.
  • Evaluate risk and ensure quality of submitted loans while applying bank policies and risk tolerance.
  • Issue loan approvals, alternative options, or adverse actions using sound judgment.
  • Analyze complex tax returns to determine cash flow income.
  • Coach and mentor junior underwriters to ensure accuracy and compliance in loan recommendations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the most complex underwriting lanes.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of related underwriting experience.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of local market sectors and industry trends.
  • Ability to interpret real estate appraisals and mitigate project risks.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
