AI Native Staff Software Engineer (Insurance)

AI Native Staff Software Engineer (AI Engineering): Designing and operating production AI and agentic systems for the Insurance business unit with an accent on agentic workflows, LLM orchestration, and RAG systems. Focus on building scalable AI-native features, establishing evaluation frameworks, and integrating intelligent systems into customer-facing insurance journeys.

Location: Hybrid (2–3 times/week) in Palo Alto (USA), Miami (USA), or Toronto (Canada)

What you will do

• Design, build, and manage agentic workflows that power end-to-end delivery of customer-facing insurance features.
• Set and evolve standards for AI development, promoting reusable agents, commands, and context structures.
• Establish evaluation and monitoring practices for AI outputs to ensure quality, robustness, and human-in-the-loop integrity.
• Own and optimize production AI systems for latency, cost, and reliability at scale.
• Ensure full observability for AI systems in production through tracing, logging, and alerting.
• Align cross-functional teams (Product, Data, Security, Compliance) around clear AI outcomes and trade-offs.

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership as a senior or staff engineer delivering high-impact, large-scale production systems.
• Professional experience implementing LLMs, generative AI, agentic patterns, and/or RAG systems.
• Strong full-stack thinking to bridge model inference and orchestration layers with user-facing surfaces.
• Experience in fintech, insurance, payments, or other highly regulated industries.
• Advanced English proficiency for daily collaboration in a global environment.
• Must be based in or able to work from Palo Alto, Miami, or Toronto.

Nice to have

• Background in insurance or embedded insurance products.
• Experience scaling products across international markets and languages.
• Familiarity with Portuguese and/or Spanish.
• Prior experience in AI-first startups or big-tech environments with strong AI/ML teams.
