Senior DFT Engineer (Hardware)

TL;DR

Senior DFT Engineer (Hardware): Defining and implementing robust DFT architectures for complex ASICs with an accent on manufacturing test coverage, silicon bring-up, and product reliability. Focus on developing scan architectures, driving ATPG generation, and performing failure diagnosis.

Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh, UK). Must be based within commutable distance or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment.

What you will do

• Define and implement chip-level and block-level DFT strategies for complex ASICs.
• Develop and integrate scan architecture, compression logic, boundary scan, MBIST, and LBIST solutions.
• Drive ATPG generation, fault simulation, diagnosis, and coverage closure.
• Collaborate with RTL, verification, physical design, and test engineering teams to support synthesis and STA flows.
• Lead silicon bring-up, debug, and failure diagnosis activities.
• Develop automation scripts and methodologies using Tcl and Python to improve productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven industry experience in a DFT position.
• Hands-on experience with Scan insertion, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, and JTAG / IEEE 1149.1 standards.
• Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools such as Siemens Tessent or Synopsys TetraMAX / TestMAX.
• Strong scripting skills in Tcl and Python, and familiarity with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
• Must be able to access technical data without requiring an export license.
