What you will do

• Own end-to-end aerial data collection missions to support Detect and Avoid system development.
• Travel across the U.S. to collect flight data from helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, and specialty aviation platforms.
• Operate data collection rigs in dynamic flight environments while maintaining strict safety awareness.
• Independently manage mission preparation, equipment setup, data capture, and post-flight wrap-up.
• Debug hardware, software, and sensor issues in the field to ensure mission continuity.
• Collaborate with pilots, flight crews, and vendors to execute safe and efficient flight operations.

Requirements

• Experience in aviation or operational environments (e.g., pilot, UAS operator, aircraft mechanic, or military).
• Willingness to travel frequently (up to ~75%), including multi-week deployments and irregular schedules.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude for troubleshooting hardware and sensors in the field.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations, airspace fundamentals, and safe airfield operations.
• Ability to operate equipment in high-pressure flight conditions and lift 50+ lbs.
• Must be based in the USA.

• Experience with cameras, sensors, or data acquisition systems.
• Comfort using command line tools to run systems or debug issues.
