What you will do

• Adapt and expand existing modelling infrastructure to the Japanese electricity market.
• Integrate market signals from LNG and coal to enhance forecast quality.
• Develop and enrich new product features for fundamental forecasting.
• Build and improve monitoring tools, alerting systems, and dashboards.
• Optimize API performance to ensure efficient data distribution to end users.
• Collaborate with the product team to define and execute an ambitious roadmap.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Singapore (Hybrid)
• 3-5 years of experience as a data-focused Software Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL; experience with FastAPI is a plus.
• Experience in ML research (training, evaluation, backtesting, tuning) and Data Science (statistics, hypothesis testing).
• Knowledge of ML Engineering practices, including model and feature versioning.
• Understanding of electricity grid fundamentals, including production, transmission, and markets.

Nice to have

• Previous experience specifically within electricity markets.
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, Airflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of hexagonal or medallion architecture and ML registry frameworks (e.g., MLFlow).
• Experience with monitoring solutions like Datadog or Grafana.
• Japanese language proficiency.
