TL;DR
Principal Support Engineer (Atlassian): Managing and maintaining the Atlassian suite of tools including Jira and Confluence Data Center with an accent on system availability, security, and performance. Focus on migrating Jira from Data Center to Cloud and automating workflows via scripting and SQL.
Location: Hybrid in San Jose, CA (3 days a week in office)
Salary: $147,000 – $210,000 USD

What you will do
- Administer and maintain the Atlassian suite, including JIRA and Confluence Data Center, serving as Tier 1 and 2 support.
- Manage complex synchronization workflows between Jira instances and trigger automatic workflows for DevSecOps infrastructure.
- Monitor performance, availability, and security of Atlassian applications to resolve technical issues.
- Lead the migration of the JIRA offering from Data Center to the Cloud.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to configure tools and develop best practices and training guidelines.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in administration of Atlassian Jira Data Center or Jira Cloud products.
- Proficiency in SQL for complex data analysis and transformation within relational databases.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Groovy for tool automation and customization.
- Must be based in or able to work from San Jose, CA for a hybrid schedule.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a FedRAMP authorized environment.
- Background in structuring and implementing change management best practices (playbooks, design docs).
- Enterprise-wide IT system transformation project management experience.
- Atlassian certifications (Certified Jira or Confluence Administrator).
