TL;DR

Senior Reliability Engineer (Hardware): Ensuring predictable, high-confidence hardware launches and sustaining best-in-class in-market performance for wearable devices with an accent on reliability strategy, risk mitigation, and root cause analysis. Focus on designing and validating electro-mechanical systems, implementing HALT/ALT testing, and optimizing field reliability to protect member trust.

Location: On-site in Boston, MA. Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Boston if necessary.

Salary: $150,000 - $195,000

What you will do

  • Drive reliability strategy across New Product Introduction (NPI) and in-market monitoring (ORT/Field Reliability).
  • Define reliability requirements, targets, and validation strategies such as DVT success criteria and AFR targets.
  • Identify and mitigate reliability risks early using structured methodologies including DFMEA, HALT, and accelerated testing.
  • Translate use cases and field conditions into system-level test protocols and execution plans.
  • Analyze reliability data (AFR, CoUR, TWR) to influence cross-functional decisions across design, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for test and field failures to prevent regressions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience applying Design for Reliability (DfR) principles in high-volume consumer electronics or wearables.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Reliability Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles across electro-mechanical systems and material failure mechanisms.
  • Experience defining and executing reliability test strategies (HALT, HASS, ALT).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, reliability modeling, and structured problem-solving for root cause identification.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Boston, MA office.

  • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification.
