What you will do

• Lead the definition and development of user needs, business requirements, and system architecture.
• Drive technical decision-making within cross-functional teams to align with design goals.
• Lead engineering analysis to optimize system-level concepts and ensure fulfillment of clinical requirements.
• Plan and execute user evaluations in lab-based surgical environments to gather actionable feedback.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, product hazards, and failure modes throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot system component integration and support the introduction of designs into surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 2+ years.
• Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, including requirements decomposition and functional architecture.
• Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to drive change and solve complex problems.
• Experience with software, algorithm, or GUI design and iterative development practices.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for clinical observations and professional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience in the medical device industry or surgical techniques.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools for drafting, analysis, and system development.
• Proficiency with tools such as Polarion, Miro, Figma, or CAD software.
• Project management experience including planning, estimation, and budget oversight.
