Engineering Group Manager (Tire and Wheel Systems)

What you will do

• Lead the Tire-Wheel Systems team to ensure high-quality, on-time engineering releases.
• Oversee deliverables including the Statement of Requirements, DFMEAs, drawings, and vehicle BOM.
• Collaborate with Creative Design to balance wheel styling with engineering requirements.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure plant readiness and launch execution.
• Mentor and coach engineers, managing performance and career development activities.
• Communicate risks and recommendations to leadership to drive independent decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 8+ years of automotive engineering experience, specifically in Tire-Wheel or Chassis Systems.
• Proven experience in engineering release and vehicle integration within a structured process (e.g., GVDP).
• Demonstrated experience leading engineers and driving accountability for results.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Report review.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or an MBA with a technical focus.
• Direct design/release experience in Tire-Wheel Systems.
• Experience supporting multiple global vehicle architectures.
• Familiarity with GM-specific processes, tools, and standards (GMWs).
