Research Scientist, Color Perception & Imaging Technology

Location: Bay Area, CA; hybrid workplace. Applicants must have the right to work in the United States.

Salary: $110,000–$150,000 annually, plus equity depending on qualifications.

What you will do

• Develop perceptual features for immersive MR/AR experiences by modeling human perception.
• Establish camera and display image-quality metrics for MR/AR benchmarking.
• Create platforms for objective and subjective psychophysical studies of virtual-object rendering.
• Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for light estimation and virtual-object rendering.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on camera capture, display characterization, and device-performance studies.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Imaging Science, Image Processing, Computer Vision, or a related field.
• Strong background in color science and imaging science.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C#, and C++.
• Experience with user experience, machine learning, computer vision, and VR/AR.
• Knowledge of data analysis, signal processing, image processing, HDR imaging, image segmentation, depth estimation, human color perception, and AR/VR rendering.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required; immigration petition sponsorship is not available.
