Manager I, Engineering (Data Visualization)

Location: Hybrid in New York, New York, USA

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 USD per year, plus equity and potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the Data Visualization Explorations team within the Graphing organization.
• Set product direction and plan and staff projects with Product Management and Design.
• Coach and develop engineers at various levels.
• Drive cross-team communication, project management, code review, and architecture practices.
• Extend Hostmap, Geomap, dashboards, notebooks, and product-page experiences using existing Datadog data sources.
• Maintain operational standards covering bug triage, incident response, and performance telemetry.

Requirements

• At least two years of people management experience in software engineering or a similar setting.
• Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills with familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React.
• Excellent communication skills, including clear, actionable, and empathetic feedback.
• Product-oriented approach focused on solving customer problems, shipping quickly, and iterating.
• Passion for data visualization and intuitive, performant user interfaces.
• Demonstrated ownership of team outcomes.
