Data Engineer (GCP)

TL;DR

Data Engineer (GCP): Designing and operating data foundations for FinOps insights and SRE outcomes with an accent on ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud cost optimization. Focus on building scalable data solutions using GCP services and creating user-facing BI dashboards for operational excellence.

Location: Hybrid (Poland). Candidates must be based in Poland and work from the assigned office a minimum of 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).

What you will do

• Translate business requirements from SRE and FinOps stakeholders into scalable data solutions.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, or Cloud Data Fusion) to ingest and transform data.
• Implement data quality checks, testing, and observability to ensure trustworthy datasets.
• Develop user-facing data assets and Looker/BI dashboards for cloud cost and operational reporting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, and leadership to align data deliverables with priorities.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, testing, and analysis.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working with large-scale data in industry or academic research.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and dimensional data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery and Dataflow, Dataproc, or Cloud Data Fusion).
• Proficiency in Python and common data engineering libraries/frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of Git, CI/CD workflows, and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Ability to work from the assigned office in Poland 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud finance (FinOps), cost allocation, and optimization strategies.
• Experience with Looker or similar BI tools.
