Field Application Engineer (HDD)

Field Application Engineer (HDD): Developing and optimizing automated test processes for semiconductor and HDD production with an accent on ATE software, interface design, and process control. Location: Songpa-gu, Seoul or Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, South Korea. Moderate travel within Asia and to the US is required.

What you will do

• Develop comprehensive test processes including strategy, interface design, ATE, test software, and process control capabilities.
• Integrate new processes into production and act as the primary technical resource for factory operations.
• Analyze defect trends and utilize metrics to develop and implement more efficient test processes.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and software debugging at customer sites to identify root causes.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction by providing innovative and timely solutions to complex system problems.
• Generate daily and weekly analysis reports for field services and the core engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Proficiency in embedded system FPGA/Microcontroller architecture and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, SMBUS, UART).
• Strong knowledge of network services including DHCP, TFTP, and TCP/IP communication.
• Experience with .NET framework and C/C++/C# programming using Visual Studio.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of professional working experience.
• Fluency in English required.

Nice to have

• Experience as an Application or Test Development engineer in the semiconductor, HDD, or automation test industry.
• Knowledge of test software development using LabVIEW or MATLAB.
