Location: Must be based in the United States. Remote for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of San Ramon; Hybrid (3 days/week in office) for candidates within 50 miles.

Salary: $135,900 - $448,300 USD

What you will do

• Own the platform function end-to-end across Openstack and Kubernetes, treating the infrastructure as a product for internal engineering teams.
• Lead the platform software supply chain, overseeing source control, CI/CD, testing, security validation, and release management.
• Define and mature core platform services, including observability, secrets management, and GPU-enabled capabilities for AI workloads.
• Establish scalable operational practices such as SLOs, incident escalation response, and shared ownership models.
• Build and develop a high-performing platform engineering organization through strategic hiring, coaching, and organizational design.
• Partner with network, compute, storage, and security leadership to drive aligned platform execution at scale.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 10+ years of experience leading platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering organizations in large-scale production environments.
• Strong hands-on software engineering background in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Git) and on-premises Kubernetes platforms (Rancher, OpenShift, Anthos).
• Proven ability to build, scale, and mature engineering organizations, including hiring and raising engineering standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) with self-service capabilities.
• Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, error budgets, and operational reliability.
• Experience implementing security-as-code and policy-as-code within CI/CD environments.
