What you will do

• Define and refine the strategic vision and operating model for the Startups AI Deployment Engineering team.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing technical ICs supporting AI-native and product-led startups.
• Guide startups from early experimentation to production by identifying technical blockers and advising on architecture.
• Partner with Sales to determine where technical engagement can accelerate adoption and long-term account growth.
• Synthesize high-signal feedback from startup customers to improve developer experience, product gaps, and model performance.
• Translate recurring needs into repeatable playbooks, reference architectures, and internal tooling.

Requirements

• Proven experience founding, scaling, or operating within early-stage startups in technical leadership roles.
• Track record of building and leading technical, customer-facing teams in high-growth, ambiguous environments.
• Strong technical depth across APIs, platform products, AI/ML systems, and production deployment.
• Ability to operate effectively with founders, CTOs, and technical executives.
• Experience creating scalable operating models rather than managing one-off customer escalations.
• Must be based in or able to work from San Francisco or New York City.
