Backend Software Engineer (Fintech)

Salary: £57,300 - £85,000

What you will do

• Deliver clean, architecturally sound, and maintainable server-side code for payment digital services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to build world-class financial products including digital identity and wallet-based services.
• Guide design discussions to balance flexibility, expediency, scalability, and performance.
• Refine development processes and champion new technologies and best practices.
• Proactively tackle technical debt while ensuring effective feature delivery.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of Golang.
• Experience building microservices deployed in containers on Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with both RDBMS and NoSQL datastores.
• Proven experience building large, concurrent, distributed applications.
• Ability to diagnose problems across the stack (client, network, server, database, OS).
• Must be based in London for hybrid work (minimum 2 days per week in office)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PHP.
• Experience with real-time, low-latency, high-frequency transaction systems.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
