TL;DR

Development Engineer (Avionics): Designing and certifying new and existing avionics products for military and general aviation with an accent on mechanical requirements and hardware implementation. Focus on conceptual design, solving manufacturing issues, and developing test fixtures for environmental testing.

Location: Onsite in Mineral Wells, TX. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Salary: $60,000–$80,000 Annually

What you will do

  • Define and modify mechanical requirements and designs for new and existing avionics products.
  • Formulate conceptual designs based on customer requests and evaluate them against engineering principles and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers to implement hardware requirements.
  • Manage obsolescence engineering and investigate production issues during manufacturing.
  • Design and develop test fixtures for environmental testing.
  • Coordinate engineering change management through ECR, ECO, and DCO processes using PLM databases.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in engineering or product testing/manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in 3D parametric CAD software and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience with Drafting and Design per ANSI Standards.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and CAD/CAM.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and Altium.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Design Architecture (EDA).
  • Familiarity with product safety documentation and quality processes.
