TL;DR

Credit Risk Analyst (Energy): Developing and optimizing credit risk and collections capabilities to reduce bad debt and improve customer outcomes with an accent on data-driven insights and risk appetite management. Focus on designing commercial risk models, automating data pipelines, and conducting A/B tests to optimize the credit lifecycle.

Location: Hybrid (Bristol, Glasgow, or London); attendance in the office at least once a week is required.

Salary: £46,000 – £52,000

What you will do

  • Use SQL and Python to generate insights and lead initiatives to reduce portfolio risk and advance department strategy.
  • Build and maintain Tableau and Looker dashboards to monitor trends, track performance, and assess KPIs.
  • Design and develop commercial credit risk models, performing A/B tests and cost/benefit analyses to evaluate solutions.
  • Automate processes and build data pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve data accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide data and insight that supports decision-making in credit risk and collections.
  • Promote best practices and support team growth through peer reviews.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Credit Risk Analytics or Data Science, ideally within financial services, utilities, or energy sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience using Python or R for analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud, BigQuery, Github, Tableau, and Looker.
  • Solid understanding of statistical concepts such as linear/logistic regression, hypothesis testing, and normal distribution.
  • Experience using or developing Probability of Default (PD) Models.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not provided for this role.
