Associate Installation Technician (AV)

TL;DR

Associate Installation Technician (AV): Performing a wide variety of installation duties on audio-visual and media technology projects with an accent on cabling, equipment mounting, and system testing. Focus on interpreting drawing packages to install displays, projectors, and speakers in complex immersive environments.

Location: Onsite in Sterling, VA and Washington, DC, USA. Frequent travel required (70-90% local, up to 30% remote).

Salary: $24 - $30 per hour

What you will do

• Install and test cables, displays, projectors, loudspeakers, and microphones according to riser diagrams.
• Perform cabling terminations and prepare equipment racks onsite.
• Mount base build equipment and build custom panels from engineering drawings.
• Maintain organized work environments and track toolkits and material inventories.
• Collaborate with project management and field superintendents to execute tasks.
• Provide daily feedback on progress and maintain accurate time records.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to use own vehicle.
• AVIXA CTS Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Basic knowledge of low voltage electrical concepts and carpentry skills.
• Proficiency with power tools and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to read and understand functional design drawings and rack elevations.
• Willingness to perform periodic or regular overtime.
