What you will do
- Define and coordinate NRC’s advocacy response to prioritized issues nationally and internationally.
- Develop and implement advocacy and communications strategy and the country media plan, including risk analysis and sign-off procedures.
- Produce evidence-based policy briefings, position statements, and public-facing advocacy materials (including visual, digital, and social media).
- Coordinate and monitor implementation and impact of advocacy and media plans; represent NRC in key stakeholder fora and strengthen advocacy networks.
- Gather and analyze primary data, evidence, testimony, and visual materials in line with informed consent and data protection standards.
- Support capacity development and transfer of responsibilities to South Sudanese advocates, spokespeople, and social media champions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian field or international media/organizations.
- Proven experience in advocacy, communications/media, or humanitarian policy, including producing high-level advocacy products and policy analysis.
- Experience working in complex and insecure contexts, preferably in South Sudan or the Horn of Africa.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination architecture and donor environments.
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Minimum 5 years of experience from a senior-level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.
