TL;DR

What you will do

  • Strategically develop the journal portfolio in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Manage the end-to-end peer review process and make editorial decisions on manuscripts.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of authors, reviewers, and board members.
  • Represent the journal at conferences and through outreach at research institutes.
  • Drive content acquisition and submissions growth through desk research and networking.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure the adoption of best practices in open research.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal).
  • Strong understanding of scientific publishing and the peer-review process.
  • Subject matter expertise in algorithms, software engineering, systems, networks, or AI.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and achieve results through personal influence.
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of post-PhD work experience in academia, industry, or publishing.
  • Prior experience in science communication or editorial roles.
  • Understanding of Open Access workflows and Open Research.
