Location: Must be based in London, UK. Candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 2 years residency in the UK out of the last 5 years.

What you will do

• Develop and embed the AI/ML strategy for the Early Warning, Analysis and Reporting (EWAR) team.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI tools into analytical processes and flagship products like HEWN.
• Fine-tune, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML models within analytical workflows.
• Co-design data-driven products to meet humanitarian information and operational needs.
• Build internal capacity on AI/ML and provide training to staff.
• Ensure responsible AI use and compliance with privacy and ethical standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in data science or ML engineering.
• Experience creating, testing, and rolling out AI/ML tools and validation methods.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows, model deployment, versioning, and GitHub.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with collaborative cloud computing platforms such as Databricks.
• Advanced degree in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Experience in humanitarian early warning systems and risk modelling.
• Background working in the humanitarian, development, or public sectors.
