TL;DR
Senior Quality Engineer (Large Projects) (Manufacturing Quality): Leading customer, supplier, production, and new product development quality activities for large-project products with an accent on continuous improvement, quality systems, and cross-site standards. Focus on root cause and corrective action, supplier capability assessments, NPD quality planning, SPC, PPAP, audits, and corporate quality reporting.

Location: St. Paul's, North Carolina, United States; based at a manufacturing location with up to 50% travel

What you will do

  • Lead customer quality issue resolution, including root cause and corrective action, program management, tracking, trending, reporting, and global coordination.
  • Support new product introduction and development for the Large Projects area, including requirements management, verification, sampling, quality plans, certifications, launch readiness, and quality metrics.
  • Lead supplier quality activities, including supplier verification, capability assessments, audits, supplier development, PPAP, SCAR, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinate quality assurance issues and best-practice standards across manufacturing sites, including production quality, supplier quality, regulatory requirements, certifications, and codes and standards.
  • Advance quality tools such as RCCA, PPAP, gage R&R, SPC, process controls, and process and product audits.
  • Maintain the Corporate Quality Operating System through MOR analysis, data reporting, eCAB support, corrective action governance, and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Must be based at the St. Paul's, NC manufacturing location and able to work in office and manufacturing-floor conditions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience applying Total Quality concepts in a manufacturing environment, including at least 7 years of manufacturing management experience.
  • At least 7 years of Lean Six Sigma experience and training.
  • Experience with metrology and calibration, Statistical Process Control, and advanced analytical techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work with customer and supplier representatives on quality issues.

Nice to have

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Minitab proficiency.
  • Previous exposure to AutoCAD or other design-related software tools.
