What you will do

• Design and implement enterprise-grade autonomous analytical data systems to ensure optimal out-of-the-box performance.
• Develop storage lifecycle and background optimizations via Predictive Optimization for a knob-free user experience.
• Create efficient storage structures and innovations to power storage layout solutions specifically for ML workloads.
• Influence data format and Catalog interface unification to enable strong ecosystem interoperability for Managed Tables.
• Perform low-level systems debugging and performance optimization on large-scale production clusters.
• Lead complex technical projects across multiple teams and mentor engineers to up-level the organization.

Requirements

• 15+ years of industry experience building and supporting large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures and their real-world application.
• Experience driving multi-year visions with incremental deliverables and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent professional experience.
• Deep passion for database systems, storage systems, or performance optimization.
• Must be located in or able to work from Mountain View, California.
