Senior Software Development Engineer, Recipient & Payment Experience (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in Burnaby, BC, Canada (minimum 50% in-office presence monthly)

Salary: $152,000 – $190,000 CAD

What you will do

• Ship full-stack features end-to-end using Go for backend services and TypeScript for customer-facing interfaces.
• Build and evolve the customer domain platform, including shared APIs, data models, and service contracts.
• Lead feature development by breaking down complex problems, writing technical specs, and coordinating dependencies.
• Raise engineering standards through production-quality code, design reviews, and the adoption of AI tools.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and coaching.
• Manage production systems via on-call rotations, improving reliability and reducing operational toil.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems at scale.
• Expertise in backend engineering with strong fundamentals in distributed services (Go preferred, or Java/Kotlin).
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React for building customer-facing experiences.
• Strong system design skills, specifically in API design, data modeling, and performance.
• Experience leading feature development and mentoring other engineers.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid capacity from the Burnaby, BC office.
